As the technology group of the CUNY Office of Library Services (OLS), we provide centralized services to all 31 CUNY Libraries, supporting the University’s 24 campuses and 100+ research centers and institutes. We facilitate global discovery of and access to CUNY Libraries’ expansive collections and the University’s scholarly record. Our service portfolio includes the acquisition, licensing, and management of electronic resources, print and digital collections; technical services including cataloging and metadata management; and management of CUNY’s institutional repository.

As a service desk organization, we provide direct (365 x 24 x 7) support and best-practices guidance to CUNY Libraries’ 800+ faculty and staff for all centrally managed library technology services. These services are delivered in part by technology we select, develop, implement, administer, and optimize for CUNY Libraries: OneSearch, Academic Works, CUNY+, Aleph functional modules, and other associated applications including 360 Link, bX, SFX, Drupal, Coral among others… Our goal as a support organization is to deliver the highest level of service into every interaction with CUNY faculty, staff, and students.

We offer leadership and advocacy/outreach development, as well as consultation for bibliographic practices, resource sharing, digital initiatives and issues in scholarly communications, open access, and copyright. We also cultivate and establish avenues of collaboration and partnerships with CUNY technology/academic units and institutional stakeholders, as well as external agencies, to align goals, resources, and values of CUNY Libraries with those of the University.
